Course Outline
This intensive and practical one day course is for all those who need to improve the quality of their sound recording. Especially suitable for those who feel comfortable operating a camera such as the Sony Z1 but find that their audio often lets them down, this course teaches the key skills to produce high quality sound. Practical exercises give the opportunity to understand key concepts and learn tips and tricks from an experienced practitioner.

- Recording with internal and external microphones
- Setting levels & using headphones
- Location considerations for sound recording
- Using different mics for different situations -- gun mics, lapel mics, radio mics, booming
- Sound perspective, atmos, wild tracks
- Using an SQN Mixer for monitoring sound
- Health and Safety when recording sound
This course is aimed at
Producer/Directors, APs, camera operators and anyone who needs to record broadcast quality sound while filming.

Some experience with cameras such as the Sony Z1
