Often overlooked by music mixers, audio phase is very important in TV sound...
When left and right channels are transmitted to mono TVs, an out-of-phase signal will cancel, reducing levels or even resulting in silence! What may sound like a nice effect in stereo on 2 speakers will render a mix unbroadcastable and result in a technical failure. So always monitor left/right phase during the mix, and alter levels or panning to avoid cancellation.
