VET - Film production, editing and training from Shoreditch, London T +44 (0)20 7505 4700 E post@vet.co.uk
VET was set up back in 1986 with a clear mission which still holds today.
Back in the 80s Channel 4 was set up with a mandate to extend the range of broadcast television and support independent and diverse production. At the same time portable video equipment became available and the GLC saw how important it was that communities get access to it, and take control of representing themselves on screen.
C4 and GLC supported VET to provide training and technical support to this emerging independent sector.
The founding members were committed techie types with broadcast and professional skills who wanted to enable community video and socio-political work . The creative engineers gave advice and support without resorting to techno garble and without insisting that there was only one method available.
Providing relevant solutions and with the ability to work at the highest level where needed, VET maintained its commercial and broadcast work to ensure it kept truly up to date with the industry and the technology. It remains committed to making those skills and services accessible.
